Agilent Technologies
Agilent Technologies required a state of the art building that has capabilities to accommodate research and testing of highly complex and sensitive electronic equipment. Mechanical systems and electrical loads were very demanding and required careful architectural planning. Interior design and layout were critical to allow the Agilent staff to communicate and yet have areas where conferences could be held for both formal and informal communications.
Philomath Youth Activity Club
The Philomath Youth Activity Club is a successful volunteer group providing a place for children to go after school. When DJ Architecture was asked to design a new facility, PYAC was located in a leased building that was in need of significant repairs. The program was very successful and there was a need for more space to accommodate additional programs. Because PYAC is a volunteer run program, funding for the new construction had to be through grants and donations. We worked with PYAC to provide support for the fund raising efforts by providing renderings and graphics to be used for public display and in newsletters, applications and other publications.
The building site was selected because it was located close to a recently constructed school. The site was only 1/3 acre and required several variances to fit the 6,000 sq. ft. building and 13 parking spaces onto the site. The building has administrative offices, a large game room, TV room, conference/multimedia room, kitchen, 1,000 sq. ft. storage room for play equipment and a covered outdoor play area. Working closely with the PYAC building committee DJ Architecture was able to create a durable and cost effective building which will be a community asset for years to come.
